Make your mark.

Due to popular request, we’re excited to announce we’ve added watermarking to DV Kitchen.

You can start with a normal watermark image you created in Photoshop, Fireworks, GIMP, Motion, FCP or many other programs.

For now, you need to do one thing to prepare a watermark for DV Kitchen, saving the watermark image as a one frame Quicktime movie with alpha transparency.

This movie shows the complete process of creating a watermark from scratch in Final Cut Pro, exporting and prepping it, then bringing it into DV Kitchen and applying it to a movie.

How do I prepare my watermark image for use in DV Kitchen?

Once you have a PNG image with transparency, here are the steps to prepare it for DV Kitchen:

Create a PNG with alpha channel. You can do this in Photoshop, Fireworks, Motion, Final Cut Pro or many other apps. We’ll have suggestions on creating a cool-looking watermark graphic soon..

Right-click the PNG and choose Open With > QuickTime Player.

Choose Window > Show Movie Properties.

Click “Video Track”, then “Visual Settings.”

Choose Straight Alpha from the Transparency option menu.

Now, just save the movie and you’re all ready!

Now just follow the directions in the DV Kitchen manual to burn the watermark into your video.
