The Lowel Rifa-lite with its
fast set-up time
is an awesome way to achieve the controlled, beautiful, soft light you've been chasing but reluctant to attain with other avenues. While the Tota-light with a third-party softbox has become a nice way to achieve controllable soft light, the set-up and take down can be quite time consuming and laborious.
The Rifa lite folds opens like an umbrella, from there it's simple to attach the diffusion screen to the front via four corner-posts.
If you've ever set-up a chimera speed ring you know how long it takes and how much of a pain it can be. Not to mention waiting for the ring to cool to prior to handling for takedown.
At 22" long, the Rifa 44 is small enough to fit in a good sized camera bag, while the larger Rifa 55 is more at home inside a full sized kit. The 44 is good for close-up interviews (head and shoulders), while the 55 is capable of a two-person interview. Choose either with or without stand. |
